Is this man really worth the popularity he enjoys among tamil netizens?Or really he's 'good enough' in literary writing as he boasts about
himself?I dont' see any 'quality' in his writings ...as Vallikkannan said this man just makes the readers shell shocked on reading his writings. That's his technic..he writes unconventionally and make the reader
to probe 'whos' this guy?'.He's just a very ordinary writer , who knows what the reader is interested with and the art of writing
something interesting..He knows that everybody has this 'useless curiosity' so he writes useless but interesting things.and he really makes use of the ultimate desirable topic of the human race forever...SE##X..:).
But I can never compare him with writers like Jeyamohan...It's an insult to a great writer like Jeyamohan to even compare him with charu nivethitha..charu nivethitha cannot deliver a single literary piece as Jeyamohan delivers...I'm sure..Charu himself knows that he's just pretending to be a great writer and he cant deliver like Jeyamohan, unless otherwise he's a mentally challenged man...And one funny thing is this man boasts that 'he's great' and often teases every other good writers in tamil...:):)
He was writing something called 'konal pakkangal' in vikatan. (www.vikatan.com)Initially he was writing something related to 'world literature,
world cinema, review of good tamil literary pieces, his views about culture, etc.But now he's just reduced to a cheap tamil 'kisukisu' writer. That's why vikatan kicked him out after knowing that he's just a pile of dung. Now he writes in www.charuonline.com.(He claims in the site that he's going to make it a pay site soon..
but I'm sure that he has to shut down the site if he dares to do that..who's interested in paying money to just read some 'kisukisu..kilukilu
news:):)) He mostly writes about cinema field actresses, who's sharing bed with whom, whom he met last time in beach (with a note that "she's drunken :)).Since this guy is a friend of 'Andhumani' (One big guy in dinamalar group) he writes pucca 'dinamalar style' of kisukisu news.
How come he's getting popular? Why do people support him?Why do we people are not able to reach writers like Jeyamohan,Vallikannnan, sundara ramasamy, etc..as cheap guys like Charu
can be reached...How do we keep this guys like Charu away from literature??...How come we keep the tamil literary community in the net healthy? and more accessible to quality writings and writers?

I stopped reading his column in Vikatan the moment I read him saying Ilayaraja has no achievements to his credit.

He is a man with a perverted mind and tries to justify his perverted ideas and opinions. I have no regards for him what so ever.

Yes SP,
I also was very much understood that he has no music sense when he said Ilayaraja is nothing..
He says that it's his freedom to express his views about a person...but he forgets that by telling this he's exposing that he has no sense at all..How come he can be a 'writer' if he dont even have some sense?:)

guyz,
I think srini's view is very narrowed...
According to me, he is one of the best writer in Tamil ... I dont think comparison is valid here.. roses are different from jasmine ....
go to www.webulagam.com click ilakiyam menu, click sirukathai menu, read his sirukathai "cycle" ... i got inspired to his writings from that sirukathai...
His nadai and approach are very very good... I dont think his articles are just some SEX related article ... he is telling lot of information abt world cinema/culture/esp philosophical points thru a layman's eye ... how many tamilians have this knowledge? ... Even if they have, how many are sharing their knowledge openly? ...
whats wrong with pay site???? ... do you think tamil writers dont deserve money ... I think he deserves much more money than a stupid sterio type programmer ( by the way, I am a computer science graduate) ...
"SP" you like illayarajas songs very much b'cos your life style was entirely different than him ... That is his view ... He didnt say Illayarajas music is bad, but he said that he doesnt like Illayarajas music as it is more carnatic (Here the point is he doesnt like such music thats it, not carnatic music is bad) ... he said he likes dynosian spriit (i know there is some spelling mistake :) here) music like african music than thoonga vaikira Illayaraja paattu ... I too like Illayaraja's songs but I like kutthu paatus and folk songs more than that ... thats my taste ...
"he is boasting himself" ... How many of you can tell the exact truth of your life? ... he is like a open book, he has postives and negatives, he not only says positive things abt him , but evrything abt him ..
How many of you have guts to reveal your true world ? ...

Kadamban,

Agreed, everyone has his/her own taste. But if one doesn't compose for your likings he is a waste. That is the logic CN has when he writes "Ilayaraja has yet to achieve in the field of music".
I can't locate the correct link for this 'historic' quotation in 'konal pakkngal' in AV.
When I browsed his own website for it, I found he hasn't stopped mud-slinging on renowned people. Latest victim is Sujatha for his dialogues in "Boys". Sujatha is not beyond criticism, but with the kind of stuff that CN produces, he has no right to bark on others.

Hi all,
I judge a writer by the emotions, her/his writings evoke in me. By that yard stick,
Charu is a no one. Jeyamohan on the other hand, stands tall as everest.
Let me just explain it... In 'Pin Thodarum Nizhalin Kural' - Jeyamohan's Novel, there is a place where one of the characters, Veerabadran Pillai, decides to takes alms to quench his hunger. He tells an old lady that he is hungry. She looks at him indifferently and asks "So?". Just one word. SO. and Jeyamohan writes 3 pages about this one word. It shook me so much that i had to pause, before continuing.
and lets come to our hero, charu nivetha. Have you read his "Thirilogapuri"? its about the voilence against sikhs after indira's assasination. a story with numerous places where the story could have been taken to the next level. But , no. It reminded me of a badly written news report.
May be thats his style. In literature, for that matter, in every thing, there is nothing called 'universally accepted truth'. If I just say, "Charu is a bad writer", then i am tresspassing into someone else's opinion. 'cos i am taking an opinion of mine and trying to show that as an universal truth. So its safe to say that
Charu is not a good writer for me. But can be for someone else...
Note :
By the way, as far as i know charu, he does a lot of this tresspassing....
Siddharth.

hai everybody,
its nice to see charu nivedita has achieved a lot....now he is under discussion.
most of the people who oppose charu nivedita speaks only about the sex which he talks in his writtings.i would say all these peaple are just those guys who never read anything other than tamil literature.
how many of those people who oppose charus writtings have read westorn erotical literature.i think charu had not written anything more than that.he writes abt sex but its not erotical.
abt illayaraja....i like illayaraja a lot but
there is nothing intresting to see some one says i dont like lillayaraja......even many of my friends says they like rehman but not illayaraja...its stupid to say u dont like someone who does not like illayraja....after all its his opinion....more than that charu says in his konal pakkangal illayarajas re-recording in one of the recent vijaykanths movie(sorry i dont remember the name) is amazing and also says in india illayaraja is the top class music director for re-recording......but i dont know whether he says world class....after all its his opinion.
charuvin ezhuthukkal thamizh nattil vazhum ....thamizh nattil matrum vazhum ungalakku oru kalachara adhirchi yerpaduthum enbathai oppu kolgiren....anal athu ungalin kalachara pinnadaivu endru than nan ninaikiren.
read charus "zero degree" novel and u can understand his capacity..the novel comes under postmartanism categary.but....thamizh kalacharathilaye oorivitta pazhamaivathigal antha novelai padikka vendam.
bye.
with love,
sam.
