English to "INDIAN" ?
Kind attention: All the Foreigner Friends,
This Title itself is confusing ! What is meant by the word "Indian". It only means a citizen of India. There is no Language named as "Indian" similar to the Term English.
India is One vast country of multi-languages and Mosaic culture. Please imagine Europe as one Nation,..so is India...with 23 various States and Territories each having its own Regional Language of the respective people...some are so much mutually different that one Indian of one state cannot understand the Language of his co-citizen of another state of one and the same Great country. For example Tamil and Hindi, Bengali and Gujarathi, Sindi and Telugu, Sikkimese and Malayalam and so on.
It is just illusory and a Myth to say that Hindi is a Common National Language for the whole of India, spoken by the majority of Indians ! No.No. Not by Reality. Even within the Northern part of India, where Hindi is widely prevalent, you may be able to manage with it while dealing in the cities of that region. But if you go to remote areas...not to speak of villages...but just the Towns of Non-Hindi states...such as West Bengal, Orissa, Sikkim, etc. nobody will be able to understand your words in Hindi.
But in the practical sense you can manage with ENGLISH ALONE anywhere in India, even in the remote corners of Villages and Hamlets so long you deal with fairly LITERATE PERSONS, who are invariably knowledgeable in English at least upto some extent.
Besides, if you prefer to address and converse with somebody of any one Region of India, in his Mother-Tongue, you have to be specific as to what Indian-Language you mean.
If you note the Indian currencies, you can observe that there are 13 Main Languages(out of Hundreds) declared as National Languages of this Great Country, e.g.Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarathi, Sindi,Assamese, Oriya, Assamese and so on.
If you learn from this Thread some Tamil-expressions and use it in Hindi region or Vice-versa, it will be only self-deceptive.
No doubt we all Indians mutually respect and love all our Languages of our Great Nation...and at the same time, the common people of India(barring the Politicians) regard English as the most advanced World Language, especially for learning Science and Technological Subjects, while some of our Indian Languages are Great in some other respects and of Classical Value at the International Arena too.

hi Coker, there is no language called "indian" and that is why you cant find a translation.
If you mean the official national language, it is Hindi. Then there are many other regional/state languages(not dilects, but langauges).
In hindi, "little one" would be "chhota sa".
