How do u rate the work of the sithars?.I feel that apart from their nihilistic views their command of language and the power/meaning of the words has not been matched in any other form.
"Sutta Satti SaTTuvam KaricCHuvai AriyuMoo?.
Lines like this are very rare to see in anyother form of poetry.I also would like to know of any research work being done on this topic.

Now, you have some thing considerable to chew on.
Its tough.
But let the message roll around in the mind and the light will shine and the understanding will come.
And when it comes, it will be at a deeper level.
It will be beyond the realm of words.
Let the Star of Bethleham shine forth and shed its divine glow. The glow that illumines the three worlds. In its light we meditate.

Jaybee,
This is a significant contribution.
"Summa IrUpade suttatra POOranam"
This Summa I think is just to be in the state of "knowing".You can be "Summaa" only when u know what is ALL about.
I think the id can be equated to Ahangaram
and superego to SITHi.

It would be better if this song is put in a web-site of Forumhum, where people can refer from.
Otherwise, it will be lost. Even I will forget about it and have difficulty in trying to get it.

Jaybee,
Thanks for posting the full song.
This song is mostly understandable but I have difficulty in understanding some lines ..
The last but three paras
"varisai kedamal edum "
"palayavar kaanum..."

"Varisai" in this context, is rites of respect, decoration, etc.
Kings used to invite soldiers and poets and scholars and do "varisai". That was giving honours.
"Siir varisai" is a rite associated with marriage. "Siir varisai" is considered to bring honour and respect to a bride.
"Palzhaiyavar" means long-term friends.
ThiruVaLLuvar has a chapter on "Palzhaimai" which deals with friendship.

This Summa I think is just to be in the state of "knowing".You can be "Summaa" only when u know what is ALL about. <<<<<<<<<<
Not always. Many siddhars are not scholars. But they have achieved the state of summa. Its just like Vaalmiiki. He just contemplates on "Ma Raa" without knowing what it is.
You would have heard of Vaayilaar Naayanaar? He did nothing and said nothing. That's why he was the "vaayilaar".
The realisation would come later. "InRu varumO, naaLai varumO?" as Thaayumaanavar eagerly laments.
For RamaKrishna Paramahamsa, the mind would never settle. Finally, the frustrated ThOthaburi takes a splinter of glass and slashes Ramarishna's fore-head. RamaKrishna attains samaadhi and thus is on the way to become the "Parama Hamsa".
It just comes - when it comes:-)

"Siddhi" is just power.

Dr. JayBee:
If "Siddhi" is just power, what happens to it when siddhars attain the state of "summaa"?
I am asking a question, not questioning.:-)

Is 'summa'iruppadhu and 'Sthithaprakjna' (Nilaiththa manam) mentioned in Bagawath Geetha one and the same?
