THE ECONOMY OF THE ANCIENT TAMILS
The economy of the Tamils was not evolving but merely growing through the centuries. It was unorganised charity – based and was neither capitalist nor egalitarian. This character of the economy grew in quantitative terms from very early Sangam times to proto-modern times when the advent of modern European powers in India introduced the capitalist economy suitably modified for colonial areas.

An article on Na.Pichamoorthy by Thanjai Prakash.
If my memory is correct Na.Pichamoorthy's
book "Kaattu Vaathu" is published by Crea or
Kaavya.I saw it in a book exhibition in Trichy some 8 years back, during my college days.
Thanjai Prakash writes about Karichaankunchu too.
Somewhere in this thread some one has asked about
Karichaankunchu. (In literary Tamil it is called
as - Valiyan kuruvi, and is known for its courage
in attacking birds bigger than its size, like
crow. This bird is discusssed in Sangam poems it
seems.)
Karichaankunchu wrote a novel called " Pasitha
Manudam". Has any one in this forum read it, or,
to be more realistic, heard of it :-)
