How do u rate the work of the sithars?.I feel that apart from their nihilistic views their command of language and the power/meaning of the words has not been matched in any other form.

:-)
yes sidhars have very good command over the language.
But did not bother much about language 'as a communication
tool'.
i feel that they can not be called nihilistic. may
be they are too haughty and aristocratic.
they are better called as social reformers who are in the
extreme.
there are some good lines from Sivavaakiyaar.

For a long time I wanted to read poems of Sivavakkiyar.
I have to read them.
Puthumaipithan has rated Sivavakkiyaar highly.
In 'Puthumaipithan varalaru'
by Ragunathan, it is mentioned that Sivavakkiyaar
is one of his favorites in Tamil literature.
As to your question on books, I recommend this:
There is a good book ( 3 volumes book ) by Mee.
Pa. Somu.
It is a research study on Sidhars.
Title of the book is 'Sidhar Ilakkiyam'
. Very big volumes ( a la Ponniyin Selvan).
The research was initiated by Annamalai University
trust. Mee. Pa.Somu is the guy who
has personally met and talked to many modern
sidhars.
He frequently talks of how Ti.Ke.See liked a particular
sidhar padal in that book.
For example this poem which talks of Shiva, is
liked by Ti.Ke.See it seems.
It says ' Ulagam azhagiyathu ' ( forgive my poor
memory)

The approach is somewhat similar to ' Tao of Modern
Physics '.
He talks of Russian scientist's research. Personally
these comparisons are not convincing
for me. It is published by Annamalai University.
Cover painting by Maniam Selvan.
There is apainting of sidhar along with a modern
guy who looks at something through a microscope.
Read it. You may get more insight into sidhar
padalkal.
As to your comments on their command over the
Tamil language:
Sidhars Tamil is different from the regular Tamil.
If they say 'koni', 'pai', 'kili'
etc., people like me will think gunny sack and
parrot. But it has different meaning in sidhar world.
Moreover they are not unduly bothered about language.
They wanted realisation etc.,
( I really don't know what they want. )
I frequently compare them with Zens. For both
of them language is a tool.
If I point a place with my finger, finger is
not important for you right ?
Language may be an impediment for them, may be.
On the lighter side,
When some one was talking of Kambaramayanam
and modern explanation for it,
it seems Puthumaipithan told,

I feel it can also
mean application/ dedication from the individual.
Ack: I took this poem
from Project Madurai.
Sidhars despise bookish
knowledge. It has to come directly from guru.
