In addition, I would like to add that in Bellary and border Andhra regions, they are also known as 'Naidu', 'Naidoo' from 'Nayudu' which is the equivalent of Nayaka.

Nayak - Nayaka - Nayakkar - Nayudu
These Communal-names are the Innovations during the Vijaya-nagara Samrajya period, when the whole of South India comprising of the present regions of Karnataka, Andhra-pradesh, Tamilnadu and Kerala, along with some parts of the present Maharashtra and Orissa was ruled over by one Sole Emperor Krishna-Devaraya and subsequently by his posterity, having the Capital at Vijayanagara near Hampi in Bellary District of Karnataka.
Unlike other Kings and Emperors of the past India, that Emperor had the direct control of his whole army, in a Centralised-management-system but the ruling of the States were left to a Decentralised Management system. This exemplary system of management only has been accepted as the best ever applicable Ruling-code of practice by the Experts who framed our Indian Constituition and thus made it as the prime policy for India.
During the Vijaya-Samrajya period, each District was ruled over by one Leader named as NAYAKA and a larger extent of a region containing several Districts were ruled by the so called ATHI-NAYAKA, to whom all the Nayakas were accountable.
These Nayakas and Athi-Nayakas hailed from different regions of his Kingdom of various linguists but the Subjects (people ruled over) of the respective Nayakas called them differently according to their linguistic convenience ....
In Kannada as NAYAKA... In Telugu as NAYAKUDU... In Tamil as NAYAKKAR... In Maraathi and Oriya as NAYAK.
"Nayakudu"... in course of time got changed to "NAYUDU"
In Tamil NAYAKKAR continues. The ancestors of these communities were the mini-Rulers.

K'raya is tulu speaking. Since majority in his kingdom Telugus he might have supported that language. But he is not Telugu. Nayakar' speak broken telugu now they are considered as Tamils no more telugu in tamil nadu. it is not true that 2.8 krore telugus in TN. Naidus are kammar's, Land lords in TN, but nayakar's are rulers in TN. Karunanidhi former chief minister is also nayakar. But he never speaks telugu, he is proud to be Tamizar. Nayakar's are "kshathriya's", Naidus are "sudhra's". Never compare Nayakars with any sudhra. Sorry my friends we should remember our caste before compare with someone. Now a days people are forgetting their castes after they get food. Why India is poor today becoz sudhra's ruling our country. Where TN is ruled by ayyar. Andhra & Karnataka you are under sudhra rule. So you are also sudhra's.

i am sure that this ramaswamy nayakar is born to a prostitute.Being a Naidu ,he is blaming all naidu's.except Nayakar in tamilnadu every body belong to the race dravidian,which means rakshasa
in sanskrit.

the "nayaks" or the nayakars are Schedule tribes and are the lowest of the castes and are more or less equivalent to "harijans". Naidus are not sudras.nayakars are useless fellows of india and are negros of india

Nayakas were the Royal families, U can come and see the Forts they have built in karnataka and andra pradesh,
Just like in Northern india, Jats (being a dominant caste)have taken reservation benefits, Nayakas in karnataka (a dominant caste) are also taking a reservation benefits as scheduled tribe.
Do you know "Madakari Nayaka" of chitradurga,
Have u heard of Chitradurga fort?
If you do not know ask any child in karnataka they will tell u.
May be u need to open your yellow eye, to know much about nayakas and their Royal status.
