Ingredients:
thuvarm parruppu-1/2cup
onion-2
thakkaali-2
chilli-2
garlic-8 pallu
pinch of turmeric powder
steps:
place the above ingredients in cooker.heat it.
allow for 4 to 5 whistles.filter water from the above mix.grind it using mathu or mixer.mix the filtered water with the grinded soln.u can keep this in fridge for 2 days when u want fresh hot sambar take the mixture from fridge( or u can directly) add salt,chilli powder(sambar masala)(2 spoons).allow it to boil for 10-13mts.add pulli mix to it.let it boil for 3mts.add kothamalli & curry leaves.
add oil,kadughu,seerakkam,perukayam,2 dry chilli,fry it.add this to kodhikkum sambar.thats it.

excellent sambar can be obtained if u add atouch of molasses or jaggery to the end result. it doesn't make the sambaar sweet but brings out all teh flavours .

The size of a small marble of jaggery should be enough for a litre of sambar
