Hi
Please send me the recipes of vegetarian dishes that can be made in a Microwave. I do not want to use the microwave just for steaming the veggie and later use conventional methods of Kadai or a Cooker.
Particularly, I am interested in making Sambar, Rasam, Koottu and a veg curry. It is ok even if I have to switch on/off the oven 2 or 3 times to stir the dish.

List of ingredients:
Qty Measure Ingredient Wt.(gms)
8 small flowerets of 1/2 inch size cauliflower
1 carrot (cut in round slices)
1 1/2 cup peas
10 beans(cut in 1/2 inch pieces)
1 capsicum(cut into 1/2 inch cubes)
1 100 g paneer(cut into half inch cubes)
2 onion
1 1/2 inch ginger
1 3 to 4 flakes garlic
1 1 cup tomato puree
1 1 tsp dhania powder
1 3/4 tsp jeera(crushed to powder)
1 1/2tsp garam masala powder
1 1tsp red chilli powder
1 2 tbsp ghee or oil
1 50 grams khoya(grated)
1 11/2 tsp salt
1 chopped coriander leaves
2 cloves(crushed to powder)
Cooking procedure:
1. Cut all the vegetables into 1/2 inch pieces.
2. Then Grind the onion, ginger and garlic into paste.
3. Put the onion paste in a dish and sprinkle some oil over it and mix well. Microwave for 5 mins uncovered.
4. Add the puree,all the vegetables(except the paneer),jeera powder, gram masala powder, dhanina powder and re chilli powder to the above mixture and mix well.
5. Microwave covered for 8 mins. Stir once in between.
6. Add the grated Khoya,paneer and salt and mix well.
7. Microwave covered for 4 mins. stir once ina while .
8. Let it be there for 2 to 3 mins.
9. Add cloves and chopped coriander leaves.
10. Sprinle grated khoya at the time of serving.

Reshmi, This is how I make Chicken Biriyani.
Clean, remove the skin and cut one whole chicken into pieces. Now marinate it with chilli pdr(1 sp), Salt(to taste), black pepper powder(1/4 tsp), Turnmeric powder(1/2 tsp) for about 10 to 15 minutes. Fry the chicken pieces in oil till half done.(No need to fry completely). Keep aside.
Finely Slice onions(2 medium size) and saute them in oil. When they become pink, add ginger paste(1 sp), garlic paste(1 sp), coarse paste of Green chilli(take 8 to 10 green chillies) and again fry for 5 min. Now add chopped tomatoes(2 med sized) and again fry till the tomatoes are cooked and everything is well mixed. Now you can add chilli pdr(1 sp), turmeric pdr(1/2 sp), coriander powder(2 sp) , and fry till oil separates. Add salt and 1 cup yogurt and mix well. Add the chicken pieces and wait for boil. Reduce the flame to very low and cover the pan and cook till the chicken pieces are fully cooked. If you feel there is not enough water for the chicken to get cooked, you can add little coconut milk at this stage. Just before turning off the flame add chopped coriander leaves and mint leaves. The masala is ready.
Wash the rice(4 cups)and keep in a colander to remove the water. Rice should be dry. You can wash the rice when you start making the masala. So now it will be dry. Heat oil/ghee in a big pot, fry some cashew nuts and raisins and remove it from the pot. Now fry cinnamon(4 sticks), cloves(6), black pepper(6), bay leaves(2), cardamom(5) Jeera(1 tsp) for 1 min. Add the rice(washed and dried) and fry for 6 to 7 minutes in med flame. Add salt, 1/2 sp lemon juice(optional) and water(7 1/2 cups). When boiled cover the pot and cook on low flame till the water disappears.
Take another big pot and place the rice and masala and cashew, raisins in layers. Bake in an over for 5 to 10 min. at 250'F. Decorate with fried onion(optional)

Hi,
I can give u an easy microwave recepie for tomato soup.
Ingredients:
Tomatoes-2 or 3nos(for 2 person)-cut into cubes
Onion-1(cut)
Ginger-1/2 inch piece
Salt
Pepper powder
Method:
1.Take tomato,onion and ginger in a microwave bowl
with some water(say 1 or 2 cup).Microwave for 7 mins.
2.Allow it to cool,remove ginger and throw it away.
3.Grind the rest in the mixie,add water and strain thro' soup strainer.Dilute with water according to ur taste.
4.add salt and pepper and microwave for 5 mins.Thats it.Enjoy.....
Note:if the soup is over diluted u can add little corn flour while heating.

The following recipe is from bawarchi.com
Peanut Chutney Powder
Ingredients
Peanuts- one cup roasted
Desicated Coconut/copra- Half cup
Garlic- 4 Flakes
Curry Leaves- 8 nos
Red Chillies (fried)- 8 nos
Tamarind- little
Salt- to taste
Method:
Grind all these ingredients and keep it in an air tight container. This powder goes with all dishes like Idly, Dosa, Rice, Chappati, or Bread (with ghee or curds).
