Dear Freinds ,
I am attemting to translate some of Bharathiyars Poems from tamil to English and I hope it will be helpful Knowing others about some south indian Saints and the beauty of Tamil poems
Looking wealth for day to day living,
Babbling meaningless stories and
Concerned about the suffering.
Pain in the Heart,
Harming others
In selfish desire.
Aging in agony then
The Death takes over in vain.
Like the ones above, some ignorant people,
Bharathi is not going to loose this battle
-Bharathi
Can any one provide me some english translation of Bharathi Songs???? or can help me in translation?
Regards
Imthiyaz

Prof Pasupathy: This is an information which I am not aware of myself! Thank you. But I won't compete for the copy now. I will wait till Sathiya says he has purchased, as he has a greater need and as you say only a few more copies are available.

Hari: I am now sorry that I did not buy this book!:-))...I think you should buy one asap after ascertaining the no of copies they have...! ( If the chaotic condition in the Indian publishing business prevents and frustrates even people like you in India who follow Bharathi-related books keenly from finding out what has been published and is available on a given subject, you can imagine my frustration when i come on only a few days' visits to India ! When will all the publishers join together to publish a comprehensive list of books in print ...listed by authors and subjects and available in every major bookstore and from which you can order ..I am , of course, dreaming! )

Agni Kunchonru Kanden!
I gave birth to a minute fire
I kept it in a tree hole in a huge Forest
I see the Forest in Ashes
Is there a Difference in fire?
Minute or Big?
Is there in Wisdom?

Thank you!

Hi everybody!!
Though i am a punjabi, i happened to see the film Bharati the other day (with English sub-titles). Needless to say, I was fascinated by the man, his poems and the enigma that was Subramanya Bharati. The songs were very sweet, melodious - unfortunately, I did not understand the meaning - would someone be able to help me find the lyrics and the meaning of the follwing:
1. Nirpathu ve Nadapathu ve
2. Neenai Charandainthe
3.Nallador Veenai
Of course, since i can't read tamil, it would be great if somebody could write the songs out in English for me and also provide the translation. Thanks a lot in advance.

Dear Kaliyaperumal,
Art and Wisdom has no barriers, Even Buddha Learned his Wisdom from a Farmer who was playing a string.
Translation work never repress any language instead it works as light to our own wisdom.
If One really wants to help the growth of tamil, it is better to translate international works in to tamil.
Wisdom has no barriers of language , Language Just works as a communication medium. Let us not supress our richness of culture and from rest of the world,By having false assumption and confusion between translation and fanatism.

Dear freind ,
I found lots of Bharathiyar poems transulated in one web link..check it out
Lo! He is rising on the altar of our sacrifice, Agni, the All-Will ablaze, and He leaps forth on all sides, chasing the defected shadows of the Dark Realm.
Lo! He ascends unto Heaven, lifting up His golden arms, and Dawn, the maiden, whose form is knowledge, descends with love to meet him, the flame, the flame.
Lo! He opens wide his jaws, the son of strength, the priest of our sacrifice. He has come to drink our claries, and our honies, well-pleased with our works.
