I dont know if this fits exactly under the Poems/Kavidaigal section, but I received this from a friend and thought might be interesting to share it with all the Forum Hubbers.
*************************************************
Interesting Thoughts.............
1. I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when I am with you.
2. No man is worth your tears, and the one who is ,won't make you cry.
3. Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.
4. A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.
5. The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can't have
them.
6. Never frown, even when your are sad, because you never know who is falling in love
with your smile.
7. To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.
8. Don't waste your time on a man/woman, who isn't willing to waste their time on you.
9. Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.
10. Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened.
11. There's always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around.
12. Make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.
13. Don't try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.

dear Nith
Such lovely thoughts, but so much pain,
so much pain. It brought tears to my eyes
seeing such strength in the face of so much that happens to us in this largely unfeeling world.

Dear Shakespeare,
It is lovely thoughts is'nt it?? When I first read them, I thought they were sweet but yet each line had a underlying sadness to them.
My Favorite one was #5, it's so true and sad... I am glad you liked them.
Cheers

"AN INTERVIEW WITH GOD"
With my newly acquired title as a journalist, I decided to strike a high note.
"Come in," God said to me, "so, you would like to interview Me?"
"If you have the time," I said.
He smiled and said: "My time is called eternity and is enough to do everything; what questions do you have in mind to ask me?"
"None that are new to you. What's the one thing that surprises you most about mankind?"
He answered: "That they get bored of being children, are in a rush to grow up, and then long to be children again.
"That they lose their health to make money and then lose their money to restore their health.
"That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live neither for the present nor the future.
"That they live as if they will never die, and they die as if they had never lived..."
His hands took mine and we were silent. After a long period, I said, "May I ask you another question?"
He replied with a smile.
"As a Father, what would you ask your children to do for the new year?"
"To learn that they cannot make anyone love them. What they can do is to let themselves be loved."
"To learn that it takes years to build trust, and a few seconds to destroy it.
"To learn that what is most valuable is not what they have in their lives, but who they have in their lives.
"To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others. There will be others better or worse than they are.
"To learn that a rich person is not one who has the most, but is one who needs the least.
"To learn that they should control their attitudes, otherwise their attitudes will control them.
"To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in persons we love, and that it takes many years to heal them.
"To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness.
"To learn that there are persons that love them dearly, but simply do not know how to show their feelings.
"To learn that money can buy everything but happiness.
"To learn that while at times they may be entitled to be upset, that does not give them the right to upset those around them.
"To learn that great dreams do not require great wings, but a landing gear to achieve.
"To learn that true friends are scarce, he/she who has found one has found a true treasure.
"To learn that it is not always enough that they be forgiven by others, but that they forgive themselves.
"To learn that they are masters of what they keep to themselves and slaves of what they say.
"To learn that they shall reap what they plant; if they plant gossip they will harvest intrigues, if they plant love they will harvest happiness.
"To learn that true happiness is not to achieve their goals but to learn to be satisfied with what they already achieved.
"To learn that happiness is a decision. They decide to be happy with what they are and have, or die from envy and jealousy of what they lack.
"To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see something totally different.
"To learn that those who are honest with themselves without considering the consequences go far in life.
"To learn that even though they may think they have nothing to give, when a friend cries with them, they find the strength to appease the pain.
"To learn that by trying to hold on to loved ones, they very quickly push them away; and by letting go of those they love, they will be side by side forever."

dear Nithya,
thought no. 5 is the most chokingly poignant, i agree. it describes a feeling similar to what we
feel when our train pulls out of some lonely nameless railway station at the middle of the night, while in the other train we've glimpsed somebody all too briefly. somebody who looks like an instantly recognised stranger, like somebody whom we ought to have met somewhwre, but didn't. we can treasure only that dim lit face, a certain sad smile and the awful certainty that we may never meet again. ever. sorry, i am not eloquent enough to express this well, but i hope the drift is clear. i once read somewhere that learning to let go is one of the most important things one has to learn in life. to learn that the dimly lit face seen for thirty seconds is the gift from high .to learn to cherish it what it is and be happy and satisfied that we have been blessed.
cheers

Live for this moment alone. Then one can
cherish everything happening around one,
and can always be happy. The dimly lit face
for 30 seconds teaches this lesson.

Hello Shakespere,
The worst way to miss someone would be, someone whom you have known for years, they are your best friend, with whom you can be yourself and you know they wont judge you. And you want the friendship to be much more but you worry about the consequences, what will happen to the friendship if you take it to the next level??? You see them everyday, you cry and laugh with them, they're right there beside you but you still miss them becuase you know you cant have them. I think this is the worst way you can miss someone. But, you're right the best thing to do is letting go.... If you love something dearly you have to let it go, if it comes back to you its yours forever to keep, if it did'nt, then it was never yours to begin with.

Hi Nithya,
Letting go is the only way. Nothing is for keeps.
Everything changes, the center does not hold.
No, there isn't a center. Only peripheries like you and me.
As we gyrate in this cold lonely spiral of ours,
I wheel past others,
I can see others wheel past me.
It's taught me to let go cause there isn't anything to hold each to each, only those moments;
They're all we have. So I hold on to them and count myself blessed and ask for no more.
Cheers

but to start a fire.

A thought for the day!
NAIL IN THE FENCE
There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence. The first day the boy
had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down.
He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the
boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.
The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.
The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, "You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave
a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is still there."
A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one. Friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share words of praise and they always want to open their
hearts to us."
Show your friends how much you care.

Ganesh,
Its a very powerful story, it has a very strong message behind it.... Its true when we hurt someone, eventhough its not intentional, we assume that things will be ok with just a "Sorry", but you really dont think about the scar left behind... I, myself have a very bad temper and sometimes I literaly do want to drive a nail through the wall, next time I'll think twice... Sometimes when you're really furious, your mind gets clouded, you really dont think of the outcome... Anyways, Thanks for that story, a good one.
Cheers,
Nithya :-)
