I have listened to carnatic music for many years but did not study or learn. I started learning WCM a few years back and started studying ICM recently. I would suggest a thread about learning ICM and explore learning materials available like computer programs available for WCM. I learned the basic WCM notation, scales and had several hearing practices (identifying the notes from sound) using Apple computer. It will be nice if we have similar oppertunities to learn ICM. I visted a music school in Chennai called Brihhadwini(spelling may be off) and they were exploring learning using computers with a program called Cmusic.
