Just because I may like Metallica,Tool,System of A Down,Pantera,and KoRn and many other bands doesn't mean that I am going to be involved in a school shooting. People who blame the music for school shootings don't realize that these people may have had real problems and the music had nothing to do with it. I don't think that the music influenced them in any way. Their parent's may have treated them like crap and people at school may have tormented them. That is probably the reason the shot everybody.

people should be able to listen to whatever they want whether its pop, rap, hip-hop, dance, trance, garage or whatever. i personly enjoy metal, thats nu-metal, heavy metal, thrash, death whatever. and also i very much dislike other typs of music because they have no point to them or there just tring to sow off or i just don't like them. but i thought the whole point of a metler is that they were against people judging you because of your music. give us a text for response.

Metal is about life, the lyrics reflect that. It is better than rap, pop, r&b, etc. because it comes from within, it's not written by somebody else. It's just 4 or 5 guys/girls up there, singing what they feel. There's nothing more real than that. People think it's just about death, hate and violence, but they are closed minded, and can't see the truth. It is about real life, which means they are not afriad to see both the dark and bright side of life.

WuRd up, well music should not get blamed because of the irnorant congressmen and politicions. Music did not change a thing. Even the people that think some music will effect people. That is also not true. MTV has to block out the cuss words but they are allowed to show someones blood spatering against a wall. Has anybody thought about violence and graphic nature in some television shows? They have to put lables on music for cuss words when 2 13 year old's can go to the movie "the cell"? These adults that havent ever had children stero type metal for maby one or 2 bands and that just makes me mad. Oh yeah lets hear another Eminem Kim song about stuffing his pregnant girl friend in his trunk and killing her. Peace...... son

well jus came across this page by chance and i am surprised..well u guys from singapore???...well metal music is and will always be about reality...the good and the bad...thus blaming shoot outs and suicides on music in general is not adressing the real problem..it seems more like it is the scapegoat of politicians and social/religious groups. I say get to the root of the problem which i persume is most evidently family enviroments...school enviroments...jus because a certain indivigual dresses or listens to a certain type of music, how can that person live in a society that jumps upon him accusin of satan worshippin and such...now you tell..i sure would be pissed off!!!!...people will have to start accepting the fact that societ has more a part in this than music.....hell i have been listening to bands like SEPULTURA..CANNIBAL CORPSE....etc..etc...for well over abt 9 yrs and still going strong......and i have yet to point a barrel down someone's throat.......so my point is WAKE UP YOUR IDEAs ....look beyond the misconception and deciet!!!!

Sorry to disappoint all you so called metal heads, metallicrap stopped being metal back in 1991, they dont even wanna be known as a metal band. Linkin park is lame rock, think a heavier progression on grunge, thats what all these mtv "hard bands" are. Real metal is found on labels like Century media, nuclear blast, metal-blade, metal-is, earache, etc. n u will not find undergorund metal(REAL METAL) in india coz these labels dont have money to matket these bands in unknown markets, its simple business, if u dont get, dont open a dot.com company ICED EARTH RULES
