I have lived in london for many years,but i do not know the best places to find good Tamil food. I was born in Durban .S.A. and the flavours over here are not the same. Could someone out there help me? |

London .. you can go to southall beacuse there is a few tamil restaurants but london .. well never seen 1 before

You can find Woodlands in Wembley and Marleybone street.There are also Srilankan Tamil restaurants in Wembley and East Ham.

Taj Samudrah in Alperton, Wembley have got the best Kothu Rotis and Biriyanis. However if your looking for a nice day out try Cinnamon Gardens in the same place.

Hi all. I'm also Ravi Govender (Johannesburg, South Africa). It is with keen interest that I noted the comment by "Kalgi".
The reasons why we use our "caste names", I'm not sure. This was initiated over 140 years ago. But look at the name in context. In South Africa, we are not so caste conscious. To us it is just another normal surname.

You can get south indian food at Dollis Hill . the hotel is called SARAVANAS...and it is very near to the Tube station as well...Just a 2 mins walk from the station...

There is a fantastic restaurant called SHAKONI in Tooting Broadway near Primax.(In London)They give you fine S.Indian food fare.
Not far from Mariamman kovil on 3rd floor.
There is a huge vegetable market nearby where you can get all s.Indian and Indian vegetables and kirais.
Chek it out !!!

u will find good tamil food at Papaya Rest. in Rayners Lane (South Harrow) London
Sai Villa (Alexandra Aven) South Harrow and PalmBeach (Wembley) they all do good sri lankan and south indian food
and i am a reseacher in many fields currently i'm looking at tamil caste and surnames..if u know anything please do reply back.

Best food: YHAAL HOUSE, 1 London Road, SW17.
I'm a musician in Tooting and I've been eating there since it opened about ten years ago. So good I named my last CD after it!
Try the Saturday special: Crab curry, egg fried rice, squid/ prawn curry. Or try a good old bog standard mutton khottu.
Also good: ADCHAYA, Merton High Street. A chef called Sara (? sorry about spelling, only heard his name!) sometimes works there and he used to be the very best at Yhaal House. Mutton roste and roti, Fried string hoppers with seafood: Yum yum!
Most comfortable: AMMA, 140 Mitcham Road, SW17.
Licenced, table cloths(!), friendly. Check out Chicken 65 among other goodies.

Hi went to Sri Rathiga's in Ilford Essex, the food was value for money, prepartion is good and the way they serve food is outstading, dossai and briyainis is fantastic, try it, good south indian restaurant ive been to so far
