I watched this movie couple days back. It is a movie worth watching. Once again you have a deliberately slow paced movie so as to keep the viewers guessing as to how the movie is going to end. Hang in there if you find it dragging a bit in the begining, you will gradually get interested in both the story and the characters. Like the sixth sense this movie also as a surprise ending but it is not as effective as the former. If you can agree with the basic premise then you might feel this is a great movie.
Manoj Shyamalan is rapidly becoming one of the most talked about directors in Hollywood following the steps of speilberg and lucas. He sure sees thinks differently and his able to portray it in a unique way. Another aspect of the director is to bring about the human emotions of the characters. In sixth sense he appealed to me (that is if you overlook the mind blowing ending) because of the way he brings about the relationship between mother and a son who does not want his mother to feel that he is a jerk. Same goes for the doctor and patient relationship. In unbreakable there are similar sequences that proves that the director not only understands the bond but also makes the viewers empathize with the characters. I have many more interesting insights from the film. Like minded forum members can post their views and we can discuss these aspects in detail.
The bottom line "Sixth Sense" had a much more stronger script and very few lapses. Unbreakable falls short in this aspect

I watched the movie. I was confused. So were my other Canadian friends. They were like "Do brown ppl make confusing movies like this"?. A story about comics and super heros... a typical guy movie

I thought Sixth Sense was an excellent movie. Scary and spooky, but the ending just blew me over. It was way beyond my expectations, and i really liked it. I felt it gave more sense to the movie and a real sense of understanding of Bruce Willis' feelings in dealing with the boy.
I have not seen 'unbreakable' yet.
I really enjoy movies where you think you can predict the end but it goes beyond your expectations.

"tamil movie in hollywood style" ?? The Sixth sense??
yeah, would be...when some tamil director decides to pinch the storyline and palm it off as theirs...soon.
The Sixth sense was a superb movie with a mindblowing suspense. Kudos to Shyamalan. Will definitely lookout for 'unbreakable'.

UNBREAKABLE is an OK movie. it is nothing like "the Sixth sense". Like TINA said, the ending of sixth sense just blew me over. At first I didn't even understand the ending. that movie was just superb.

Some of you were confused about the movie?!
It is about good and evil.
'Ponchoman' (my friends called him 'Securityman' because 'SECURITY' was written on the poncho) went to great lengths to convince himself that he's just average. But 'Mr. Glass' tries to demonstrate not only that Bruce Willis is 'unbreakable' but ALSO that he's supposed to be a hero. This is demonstrated by Ponchoman's ability to detect evil. It is also demonstrated when the children rescue him from the pool- they (like ponchoman's son) recognize that he is good and he is there to fight evil.
However we learn in the end that Mr. Glass is the archvillain who masterminded the accidents at the beginning of the flick. If he didn't commit these heinous acts, though, Bruce Willis would've never learned or acknowledged that he's unbreakable and ponchoman would've never appeared.
The point of this is to show that great good is matched by great evil. One cannot exist without the other. The villainy of the 9-11 attacks was matched by the heroism of firefighters, rescue workers and others who risked their lives to save victims.
6th Sense- my friend who watched the movie figured out from the beginning that Bruce Willis was dead, so the ending was not that special for him. I thought the ending was interesting, but I thought the ending of Unbreakable with Mr. Glass (whom we all thought was a goodguy and ponchoman's friend if not mentor) revealed as the archvillain was more profound.

Hey Tamil Babe. Ur not tha only 1 who thought ov callin Bruce PoncHomaN...Itz been an ongoing joke between me and my freindz, Ive adopted it az a nickname, and I even dressed up az PoncHomaN 4 Halloween. Unbreakable waz a great movie...it waz a lil confuzing tho. Tha 6th Sense waz an extrememly well written, and performed movie. Though i believe it 2 be terribly inacurate from a Christian's perspective. If ne1 carez 2 argue their point email me. Make sure u uze "Unbreakable" az tha subject line or I may delete it w/out opening it.

I actually enjoyed UNBREAKABLE more than the Sixth Sense. The second movie above has a great ending which makes us think about what it's like after an incarnation. As a hypnotherapist, the nature of this ending doesn't surprise me nearly as much as it does most people as I take people through their interlife experiences frequently.
But I think that, regardless of the endings of the two movies, UNBREAKABLE is more enjoyable BEFORE the ending. People only talk about how 6th Sense had a better ending; but they don't mention how the rest of UNBREAKABLE had a far more enjoyable, and less slow, pace than The Sixth Sense did.
But I do have some confusion regarding UNBREAKABLE; which is the reason for my posting this message. At the end of the movie it gives captions which gives after movie results for the lives of the two major characters of the film; as if the story was closely based on real living people; as if this wasn't a totally fictitious story.
1) Does anyone know if the characters actually are real people?
2) Does anyone have the email address of M. Night Shyamalan as I have a few questions that he might wish to answer for me? If so, please don't post it here, but reply directly to one of my email addresses below. I will keep it in confidence if it's received.
As someone who has spent a bit of time working in the motion picture industry for a period of my life, I find that many actors, directors, stunt men, etc. are quite nice people and enjoy speaking with intelligent common folk who have intelligent questions about their work.
