Make some films(for starters, a short or two)!!! That's how!! and do it with a pure aim (aka.not for money, because the film biz is a hard one). It wouldn't be a bad idea to find a mentor who's already working in the business as well. Lastly,
a recommended school is UCLA. Most graduates get jobs in Hollywood.

I've always wanted to create and think of new ideas when I was little. But I never had a clue what I wanted to be when I grow up. Then it hit me. A movie director. I'm a 15 year old indian kid and I know I still got a long way to go to decide my career but I'm 100% focused on picture line. I LOVE MOVIES! I can never get over the real good ones. My favorite director is proabaly M. Night Shylamnan.
I have NO CLUE how to become a director. I don't care how hard it takes, but I want to reach my dreams. I have outstanding ideas for a movie. I have no knowledge of how to make a movie(except recording stuff on camera) but I am willing to learn. I want to become a Movie Director. If anyone helpful enough, can you please tell me what to do cause I am lost. What is the best college? What classes do I take in high school? Does it have to be acting? Thanks and appreciate your help.

I am tesfa, a freshman engineering student in college. I want to be a director. It is not need that is moving me foreword; rather it is confidence. Directors reach no where without confidence and vision. Directing, for me, is all about the power of imagination. I have many scripts completed and in the process of being completed. Hi. I, as many on this post, want to be a director. I don't want to do it for the money. I want to bring fresh, new ideas to the film industry. I cannot afford to produce my own films, and I am wondering how I could get started making my own movies. I am currently in high school, and I am seriously thinking of majoring in Communications in college. Is it wise to go to school (especially a public college in Arkansas) to try to get a job in the film industry? Filmmaking is the only real dream I have in life, and I hope to make it come true.
