I think that he did a wonderfull job, he did just fine . thats why he won the oscer,because he was good. He to me is as good as Richard Brutton,,and Mr. Brutton, WASONE of the grates.When it came to making Roman movies. I have seen tis movie more times then I can remember. he was grate in this movie

I think Russel Crowe is gorgeous I watched the film just to hear him say " my name is Maximus " ewwww sends a shiver down my spine no one else could fit the role like he did.

movie comprised one of the worst storylines, screenplays, dialogues and acting. crowe looks like a frickin nut and phoenix did not know what was happening. look at that movie again and see how much immature this movie seemed. i am no fan of this director either. ridley scott. seriously, alien was a good idea but just tricky movie making. fooling the public.

who ever wrote the last response is a f*cker. "what happened to holywood?" what happened to your head after your mother dropped you on it so many freakin times? This movie was A-mazing not just amazing but A-mazing. You must not know a good movie when you see one.. Russell Crow was beautiful in it.. and um.. really sexy. It's just so touching. He does all the right things @ the right time.. hes like God or something. I agree with Emmalene Dyer when she says that it send chills down her spine when he says my name is Maximus. So "what happened to holywood?" go watch your shity shows and dont comment on the great ones. That would be all..

it was a realy good movie...the fight scenes were the best(the sword fights)...Russel Crowe looks absolutely awsome(sexy)...the collasium looks great!!they had recreated the past,its just awsome!!!

I see some woman goes as far as to say russell crowe is all she wants in man---how dumb can these girls get--guys---don't reply to these stupid females.Another one want to name her baby "maximus".Guruvayurappa (like saying jesus, this is an indian god).
See gladiator is a good commercial film --not a great one---russell crowe is a competent actor , not a great one--u might harp on the fact he's got an oscar---so what?? oscars are now given to any goddamn person----thank god they gave denzel washington one--he always manages to show his face in some crappy-sure-fire -oscar film (u know like a teacher rough neighbourhood some thin like that).
On the film gladiator only great ones shud be nominated not some block buster 'coz the iq of the average movie-goer is abyssmally low and still goin down.Previous great ones like "one flew..cuckoo's..nest" ,"lawrence...arabia" ,"Price ...tides","Forrest Gump" --those were real movies.

I think he is the best actor I have seen recently. I am a 60-year-old movie fan and I really appreciate his work. Keep on going! You are doing great! We love your pictures but, best of all, we love to watch you become whatever it is your playing. I loved Gladiator, of course. But I loved everyother movie. Your the greatest!
