As for as a realistic assessment is concerened they need to work hard to get better of their opponents (Read the article posted here "L.SARITA DEVI DOES INDIA PROUD " she was so close to her maiden win in the first ever paricipation of Indian women in boxing, but ALAS !!, her "Blunt nosed "Chinese opponent beat her in the finals !!

I RESPOND TO THE CHALLENGE BY "MUSCLE LOVER" asking if there are any indian girls with muscles to match those of western/foreign women !
I paste the letter written by me to the Sportstar in response to my query Dated :- 19th Sept,2000 in your website :-

Dear editor,
My words are' nt suffecient to express my gratitude to you ,for publishing a report in the sept 30th ,2000 issue of the SPORTSTAR, on the Asian Junior wrestling championship held in Aug 2000,in New Delhi.I wanted to know the truth of a claim that Indian Ladies had stormed this male bastion also.My joy knows no bounds that Our country's gentle and "Delicate ", "Bejewelled nosed" eves who are more recognised by their beauty and brains , could not only participate in this challenge of brawn but also come out trumphantly against their blunt nosed opponents! My salutations to all those Indian ladies who participated in this event and a special 21 gun salute to Ms. Manisha Arya (58kg),Sonika Kalirman(75kg),for their Gold medal winning performances and Ms. Gurmeet Kaur(63kg) and Sunita Sharma(54kg) for their silver medal performances.
These wonderful ladies should also act as role models for the ladyfolk of our
country to so that Indian Ladyfolk increase their strength and acquire the knowledge of martial
arts - just as the various beauty quuens have ,by acting as positive role models have brought in a
sea change in the level of self -confidence and perception of looks among the Ladyfolk of our
country.
Besides this, these lady wrestlers open another medal winning front for the future Asian Games.They only have the chinese and the Japnese competitors to contend with and a
medal is an absolute certainity. I request the sports ministry and the private sponsors to give
maximum encouragement - recognition,funds,training and facilities, to these new "Durgas " of
Indian sport. In general maximum encouragement in Indian women's sports will fetch better
rewards,as at the Asian level they always find a place in the top 3 positions.Even in those areas
(eg. weightlifting and hockey) where Indian ladies are not in the top spot ,thier rivals (viz
Chinese ,Japnese and Koreans) are just a blunt nose ahead of our gallant ladies.With greater
encouragement as described above the Indian ladyfolk will be on the top-spot in every sport forever,just as they deserve to be!!
KARNAM MALLESHWARI'S NEAR GOLD MEDAL WINNING PERFORMANCE IN THE SIDNEY OLYMPICS POVES THIS !!!
