Looking for the second half of a 1957 MMI concert in Bombay. Accompanists are Lalgudi, Mani Iyer & Kodandarama Iyer. The first half has Chittharanjini,
Anandabhairavi, Vachaspathi, Ataana, etc. My tape ends with an alaapana of Kambodhi. Would love to get the entire concert!

Dear fellow lovers of the Great MMI
I am looking for the second half of a concert of MMI,the first half being-Vathapi,Suryamurthe,Ninnunera,Seethapathe,Kamalamba(Kalyani),Chakkani Raja.I think the accompaniments are TNK/VR.I am also looking for a concert with Karthikeya Kangeya in Todi.I have one minute Charanam of this song when somebody tuned to a Direct relay from Tamil Isai in the AIR!

MMI sings the kriti nitya roopa of tyagaraja in durbar, while it is usually sung in kapi, and listed so in 'The Spiritual Heritage of Tyagaraja' ... Anybody has info on this durbar raga version ?

The Darbar version is available in Rangaramanuja iyengar's Kritimanimalai, volume 1/pg597. The Kapi version is also in the same book.

my fellow MMI fans, i have not been able to join in the discussion for a long time due to other committments. I am trying to locate two persons who contacted me in regards to setting up MMI fan club or a some kind of an institution dedicated to MMI. I you are the person please contact me on ananthr@ozemail.com.au. One of the person in question might be Krishnamoorthy or Viswananthan from Beasant Nagar.
I am obsessed with MMI music and can't get enogh of it. i have to listen to him atleast once everyday. I will be coming to Madras end of the year and would like to meet with many of you to copy music. I live in Melbourne.

My father and lived in Aandanaiyappan theru in Mylapore near the Kapaleeswarar temple for over 30 years and he has often recollected fondly about MMI concerts at the temple and how MMI would sing for hours and hours and not a soul in the audience would leave. I was born after MMI passed away and one of my greates regrets in life is that i couldn't see him sing at Kapaleeswar temple.
