yaman kalyan
yaman
maru bihag
bihag
i need to know not the note structures, but their linkage to shringar ras and its evocation, its important visual linkages which come down to us culturally, or even other traditions and customs accorded to them.

Most of the Indian Ragas have been vividly depicted in the Rajasthani (Rajputana) paintings. I have found them amusingly portrayed at City Palace Museums at Jaipur & Udaipur. Some of them at Albert Hall (Jaipur)and sporadically all over Rajasthan. Basically these paintings depict the time & mood of the Raga, the colour, which is very important becoz every Raga is supposed to have its distinctive colour according to the musicians. And the paintings also associate the Raga with festivals like Kafi to Holi & Lord Krishna with Gopikas...and likewise.
