I came across the Raga Sarang Malhar recently. Till now I used to think that those two were separate ragas. Does anybody have any details about this rare raga? Could someone tell me compositions or Arohana/Avarona of it? |

Hi Saumya
They r indeed separate ragas...But if u use dhaivat in a very slight way or in other words alpa-pramana in avaroha and give slight touches of komal Gandhar it adds a Malhar flavour to the raag. But care shud be taken that u dont hit the ma pa ni dha ni ni sa or pa ga ma re sa pakads of Malhar family..This raag is probably in its experimental stages...
