I am a South African of South Indian origin (3rd generation) and have studied Tamil. Unfortunately because it is not spoken widely, we cannot interact sufficiently because we cannot speak fluently. I have been searching for years some form of interactive "Learning to speak Tamil" medium and I am frustrated at the fact nobody can offer anything on this. We come from the land of the greatest software specialists in the world - I am sure we have not neglected our own beautiful language of Tamil. Please help.

The university of Pennsylvania also has online Tamil lessons. Tamilnadu is set to start a Tamil virtual university on Feb 17. You can get more information if you send an e-mail to:
