I have posted so many topics referring to all kinds of melams, even urumi melams.
All I know is, urumi melam is mainly associated with deities like Maariamman, Ayyanaar, Karuppusami, and also with Kerala deities like Bhagavathiamman, Kaalan, Paalan Pulaiyan, etc.
Mainly it is for folk music, it is not classical music. If anybody has any links to any soundclips to any TN melams like urumi melams, please post them in this thread.

I am writting this with a very high hope for all thhose whom are involve in Urumi Mellam, Guys there is only one thing that i want to share with u guys, ok TEAM WORK, this is the only way for us to achieve glory , coz its very sad to say that from my experience in urumi mellam i found that there are lots of missunderstanding and misscommunications in between so many people i am only 2 years in this urumi mellam and its very sad to see this situation, lets work together coz, its God's gift for u guys to b involved in such a grate line of service for GOD, lets see how many millions of indian youths are in malaysia, not all of them got this talent right, so if we r given this talent believe me WE ARE THE CHOSEN ONE by the great mighty god to serve them. Lets continue this beautiful music by holding our hands together like brothers n sisters. And achieve great strength for MALAYSIAN URUMI MELLAM. And prove to the world that the greatest talents for urumi mellan exist in the land of MALAYSIA. So guys the only way to achieve this is by working together and helping out each other as much as we can by not having any personnel grudges. VALGA YOU GUYS AND VALGA MALAYSIAN URUMI MELLAM.
