I want to see if the muscians, music enthusiasts would get together to discuss the standardization of notational scheme of carnatic music, so we are able to get innumerable carnatic compositions in one form of acceptable text format with appropriate notations?
I am envisioning something along the lines of monumental works of subbarama dikshitar, capturing the notations for gamakAs, kArvai, kAlap pramANa's, native and forigen notes pertinent to a raaga etc., including the proper phonetic equivalent of devanagari consonants (rightnow, people use subscripts for denoting four sounds of ka,kha, ga and gha!). I would like to eventually see the musical text editors coming out of this effort as well fonts specifically designed for capturing our musical texts along the lines of TSCII and UNICODE efforts, by INFITT.ORG.
Let's get started NOW.

That will be the day! With so many different people using various schemes, it is like getting an agreement on the peace terms for the middle east.

I have read through this article of KSRM and I know him personally too. His ideas are much more complex and question the fundamental assumptions already made. While an interesting research area in itself, I am looking for simpler, near term goals of codifying the exisiting scheme.
