I agree with you,siva.However the predictability does not stop you from enjoying each and every one of his kutcheries because of the zest and sincerity of the presentation.

TVS not only repeaats the krithis "he" sings but repeats whatever Madurai Mani used to sing. Cannot accept when TVS copies Madurai Mani Iyer's style deliberately given the fact that Madurai Mani got his style because of his physical disability.

I dont know nor care for the opinions of others.
However to me T V sankaranarayanan constitutes
the acme of Karnatic music.His range,innovation
and spontaneity transcend anything I have ever listened to.Nephew of MMI,he has more than lived
upto and upheld his family name.
Especially great are his renditions of
Yochana : Durbar
Naumo : Abheri
I think he is unanimously the best ,at least in the Mds circuit.So why this discussion at all!

I think Narayanan must have meant the way in which Madurai mani used to sing(like la laa da dadaa et al.,-No disrespect meant i myself am a great fan of MM :-))and his ucharippu and not his singing style in any way.
I agree with Narayanan in that TVS only repeats the krithis that MMI used to sing(It is also sad that he does not sing vAra krithis like MMI) ..the sad part is that he also repeats the alapana and the swara combinations that madurai mani used to sing. One can predict in his concert after listenin to a few of them where he sings what..the same kambodhi ..The same Charukesi with ethe alapana beig the same almost every time..sometimes it becomes monotonous.
Considerin the fact that he is MMI's disciple if he had imbibed even 25% of what MMI had in him he would be singing much better!!
