Both Nadaswaram and Thavil are beautiful instruments, does anybody know any webpages with pictures of both instruments, like either solo, or in a procession???? |

You could listen to some of the great Nadhaswaram Vidhwans at musicindiaonline.com - it features AKC Natarajan, Namagiripettai krishnan, Sheikh CHinna Moula, Rajarathnam pillai, MPN brothers, Thiruvizha jaishankar....

In my opinion, I think they are the best now! Great clarity and no abaswarams and super "Dham" - have heard them a lot... They were supposed to tour the US - unfortunately I heard they could not get a visa - during Clinton's visit ot India...

IMHO, there is no match to the nagaswaram when it comes to bringing out the 'rakthi' in a 'rakthi raga'

I studied nadhaswaram in the 80's with Karuppaia Pillai.and played for years with thavilmaster Madurai Paramashivam.I met Sheik Chinnamoulana,AKC
natarajan,Jaishankar and other masters.My last CD I recorded with Selvagansh on Kanjira,It is called Fre Winds Indian Air.Check it out.
