You are kidding, right? Get a teacher. Learning
a ragam has got much more than just playing the
swarams in succession.

Do Tapas. When you attain the level of Sri S.Balachander, (if you know who he is) you will know sangeetham by yourself, you don't need anyone to teach you. Otherwise, for ordinary people, they need a teacher. If you feel you can learn veena by reading notes, I am ready to send those for a small price. Send me about one thousand dollars a month, I can keep sending you all kinds of swaras (notes) by mail.

Is this some kind of a joke???
Sorry Sangeetha or Sree (or however you want to be called) your disguise is not good enough...!!!
If you are really serious about learning music without a teacher, there are only two ways,
Plan A: You must be reborn and in your next birth you must be a child prodigy
Plan B: As nagaraj Suggests, do Penance...

There are two things, if you are very serious, it is better to learn from a teacher. But, if you just want have some fun with the veena you can follow any basic karnatic books, like Ganamrutha Bodhimi. Again it is just for fun. (Since you said Mayamalagowlai I assume that you know basic fingering)

Greeting And Salutations,
Our carnatic/hindustani music was brought down from generations to generations orally, I mean
from teacher to students. Even though you have
the notations, still one needs a coach to teach
them how to fine tune the instrument (all those
miracles).
But since you are so keen and eager to learn
without the proper assistant (teacher), maybe
you can just browse this website 'cause they
are having a book on HOW TO PLAY VEENA.

Hope You Enjoy Yourself
Ps. If you can pleaaaaaaaaaaseeeee, learn from a
Guru.
