The Sawai Gandharva Festival in Pune, initiated by Pandit Bhimsen Joshi in honor of his guru Sawai Gandharva, is a yearly event which invites some of the worlds most reknown Classical Indian musicians...I know that Pandit Bhimsen Joshi usually performed at the conclusion of the night, however, he has not performed in a while. Could anyone please tell me about his status.

Secondly, Will he be performing in the future in Pune, or elsewhere in the U.S? I know that he retired about a year back, however, I've heard that he may still do private concerts. Could someone please share any information at all, in regards to an upcoming concert of his or any means of contacting him to organize a concert.

Bhimsen Joshi did a beautiful mornong open air concert in Delhi in early may. It was raining and over thousand people must have attended

Bhimsen Joshi has a lot of GurU Bhakti.He arranges the stage set,Actually sweeps the stage floor on ocassions(I have seen a photo),Tunes tanpuras and makes other artists comfortable on this occasion .I hope he continues to perform at this festival.
