Alechemist is just too gud. I felt like I am gonna b a gr8 admirer of paulo coelho, till I read valkyries. It was disappointing... Though I definitely wanted 2 read Pilgrimage too.
Can someone tell me what Veronika Decides to Die is about? And someone plz introduce me 2 a couple of latin american writers of his league.

It never ceases to amaze me how diverse a crowd one book can conjure... Anyhow, I was looking to discuss VERONIKA DECIDES TO DIE. I haven't read any other books by Paulo Coelho... yet. I was drawn to VERONIKA purely because of it's setting. For some reason, I am fascinated with mental institutions. No, I have never been admitted to one, but I did, on one occasion, "explore" (for lack of a better word), McLean Hospital (BELL JAR, GIRL, INTERRUPTED).

Well since there is no response to my request, I assume that Brida is not available in India. O.K can anyone tell me if Brida is available in English and if yes name of country etc. I shall be grateful to you. I need to read this book before someone close to me who is on a death bed, dies.

just one question!
though i havent read this book, all i heard was that its the best!i have read all of Coelho other ENGLISH books and strongly recomend them to everyone! The man is simply a genious!
i just have one question though... Is the book on sale here in English?? i dont know Brazilian... but i want to buy the book and im afraid it will be not-english! all his books should be translated to all languages... the ones that have been are all better than best sellars! but:MANUAL OF THE WARRIOR OF THE LIGHT; BRIDA; AGENDA and others i cant translate... they can help so many people all around the world!
if anyone can answer concerning the laguage of the book... it would be great! on
------------
Although I happen to agree with some of the comments made about the book, having just finished reading it, I feel compelled to share my view about it: its nowhere near "Veronika Decides to Die" or "The Demon and Miss Prym", the brazilian writers two most recent creations. Furthermore: I consider Brida is nowhere as good as "The Pilgrim" or "The Alchemist" as well.
Having said this, I have to say its not bad literature, or anything like it. Simply, once you have rejoiced in his best books, its hard to find this one too compelling.
for Raj and all other Poulo fans!!!!!!

11 minutes is definitely his deepest and most challenging book. It is a truly courageous jorney that may piss some of his readers off but will probably enliven many others. It asks the reader to take a deep look at their sexuality and willingness to explore it all... rather than the good, tame and safe.
Read it when you feel courageous and see Coelho appear in an intensly powerful way.

I read the Alchemist by Paulo Cohelo and it was one of the most amazing books I have every read, it totally helps us to get intouch with what is most important in our lives by helping us to realize that often it is already in our grasp. I would recomment this book to everyone who is able to read.
