"to kill a mocking bird" is a classic. Now wonder, why it sold such an enormous amount of copies and won the pultizer. Though i read the book maybe 5-6 yrs back, it is still afresh in my memories. It talks of various social issue (eg: racism) very strongly, but never did i feel that the author is being forceful. Also, at the time when i read my book, i was in my mid teens. Then i could identify myself with lots of situation in the book. Hoping for a reread very soon. I have no doubt in my mind for recommeding the book to anyone.

it's a classic, for obvious reasons. It was well done, and I'm sure pretty much every child at one point or another has read this book. I think Lee's display of the time period of the novel was incredible (small southern town in america during great depression), and the display of the social climate was stirring. Definetely see the movie, it was extremely well done.....gregory peck did an excellent job portraying Atticus Finch.

i never got around to telling u all what ui thought about the book......... this book is high up on my list of 'best books' , right up there alongwith 'city of joy' by lapierre, 'Mr. God this is anna' by Flynn , 'timeline' , by crichton , 'notes to myself' by prather............... Lee knows how books should be written
i must also say tht i now wish tht i hadnt started this thread....... when i read all the things tht people have written about this great work of fiction..........

To Kill A Mocking Bird is the best book, I love the way the author ends it. I will say that it is a little slow so it is better to plow through it than to read it a little at a time.

This book is a wonderful one.. I still remember the line somewhere towards the end where it says "Neighbors bring food with death, and flowers with sickness..and little things in between..Boo was our neighbor..He gave us two soap dolls, a broken watch and chain, a pair of good luck pennies, and our lives"
Very touching.

i liked the book more than the movie because the novel has more in depth description on what was going on. the movie cut some of the parts out such as the fire... but all in all it was a great book and movie.
